MLA '06: Continuing Education
Get set for the best in health information sciences continuing education! Courses are organized in tracks according to the Seven Essential Areas of Knowledge as described in MLA’s education policy statement, “Platform for Change.”
- CE courses will take place on Friday, May 19, Saturday, May 20, and Wednesday, May 24.
Two symposia will be offered:
- A six hour symposium, "Patient Safety: A Proactive Approach for Information Professionals," will be offered on Saturday, May 20, 2006, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
- On Wednesday, May 24, 2006, "Serving Diverse Users: Cultural Competencies for Health Sciences Librarians" will be offered from 1:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.
Hands-on Computer Courses (Offsite Location) 
Hands-on computer courses are to be held at Arizona State University,
not at the Convention Center, or the Hyatt Regency Phoenix or Wyndham
Phoenix. Arizona State University is within walking distance of the Convention
Center and the meeting hotels. Maps will be available in the MLA Registration
Center and at the Hospitality Desk.

CE Credit Hours
Full-day CE course: 8 hours; Six-hour CE course: 6 hours; Half-day
CE course: 4 hours
Special Fees
Special student fee, pending available space: $50
Cancellation or course change fee: $50 per course
