Getting Started with Information Outreach in Minority Communities

Instructor(s): Siobhan Champ-Blackwell, Community Outreach Liaison, National Network of Libraries of Medicine, MidContinental Region, Health Sciences Library, Creighton University, Omaha, NE

Offered: Friday, May 15, 7:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m.

Learn concrete ideas for initiating outreach programs with minority communities. Topics to be covered include the basics of building and developing community-based partnerships, and recognition and acceptance of cultural differences. Some basic concepts of program planning and evaluation will be covered. Participants will engage in group discussions and activities.
