Using the MLA YouTube ChannelWant to share a video? MLA administers a YouTube channel to encourage easy sharing of videos between health information professionals. The channel can be found at http://www.youtube.com/user/MedLibrAssoc. If you would like to suggest a video for the channel:Please contact mlacom1@mlahq.org. Examples might include videos related to the annual meeting or section or chapter meetings, updates on committee projects, interviews or testimonials on MLA activities, or informational or promotional videos on projects related to MLA. If you would like to share a video link with your colleagues:Add the link to the "Channel Comments" area on the MLA YouTube Channel page or tag the video with "MedLibAssn." You do not need to own a video to add it to the “Channel Comments” area—you can add any YouTube link. Examples might include videos about new or interesting resources, technology tutorials, a research project, videos about other library conferences, marketing videos for health sciences libraries or services, or “informal” videos (for instance, from a social event connected to an MLA gathering). If you own a video and would like to share the link:Video already on YouTube:Tag it with “MedLibAssn,” leave a comment in the “Channel Comments” area (about halfway down the page), or email the link to mlacom1@mlahq.org. Adding a new video to YouTube:Click the “Upload” link to the right of the YouTube search box. You will then be prompted to log in or create an account. YouTube accepts a wide variety of video formats. Most accounts are limited to posting videos of no more than 10 minutes in length. Once you have uploaded your video, tag it with “MedLibAssn,” leave a comment in the “Channel Comments” area (about halfway down the page), or email the link to mlacom1@mlahq.org. | |
